Children & Families

This gallery contains a sampling of work, created in a variety of media from 2006-2013, which features images of children or family relationships.
Children are one of my favorite artistic subjects. They are so readily present and authentic, in a way that many of us drift away from as we get older. I love to find the spark within a person when I am creating a portrait, and often that spark is more apparent and visible within a child. I am also very drawn to depicting the connections between people–and nothing seems to make that more visible and tangible than the love felt for, and by, children.
